Leave a Gift in Will

Help us to succeed in our vision of a fistula free and safe childbirth for every woman, now and for generations to come.

Drs Reg and Catherine Hamlin’s vision was to eradicate obstetric fistula in Ethiopia. They devoted their lives to women living with obstetric fistula, giving them love, hope and the opportunity to regain their lives.

Leaving a gift in your Will (also known as a Bequest) is a thoughtful and easy way to continue your support. It makes the wellbeing of Ethiopia’s most vulnerable women part of your life’s story.

Your gift can help restore health and dignity to women across Ethiopia living with obstetric fistula or advanced pelvic organ prolapse, prevent these injuries through skilled midwifery care, and ensure safer births for mothers and their babies across Ethiopia.

  • Your gift costs you nothing today, but transforms women’s lives well into the future
  • Your loved ones are provided for and you will make an enduring contribution to the eradication of obstetric fistula
  • Your values live on, whether your gift is large or small. Even 1% of your estate can make a lasting difference.

All women deserve to live healthy, dignified and empowered lives.

All gifts, whether large or small, could make an enormous difference to the lives of Ethiopian women for generations to come. A gift in you Will can empower woman like Wolaytie.

Wolaytie lived with untreated obstetric fistula for 17 years after prolonged obstructed labour took her baby and left her incontinent. Shunned by her community, she believed there was no cure.

When the Hamlin team found her, she received surgery and rehabilitation, and began training to build a small farming business.

“For 17 years I was unable to do anything… now I feel truly free. I feel like my enemy has been defeated, and I have emerged victorious.”

Will you make the gift of your lifetime and help achieve Catherine’s vision?

Even 1% of your estate can make a lasting difference.

  • A gift of $5,000 could help provide safe birthing care for around 150 mothers and babies.
  • $10,000 could support the annual operating costs of a rural Hamlin-supported midwifery clinic.
  • A gift of $15,000 could stock five rural midwifery clinics with essential, life-saving medical supplies for one year.|
  • $25,000 could provide counselling, literacy education and vocational training for 20 recovering fistula patients.
  • $33,000 could fund a student’s complete four-year Bachelor of Science in Midwifery scholarship.
  • $50,000 could fund life-restoring fistula repair surgery for 30 women.
